Coming Soon: The Helpinstill keyPod
We've made a remarkable discovery here at Helpinstill: we've figured out why digital pianos don't work on stage! It turns out that they don't work for the same reason you can't mic a piano to amplify it: all digital pianos contain samples obtained by micing a piano. They sound great in the music store, or in your house, but get them out on stage, and you feel like you're playing in the next room. Not to mention those tinkly high notes that are the dead-giveaway of a digital! But take heart, piano lovers. Soon, by using a small, add-on digital device for your keyboard we call the keyPod, you will be able to connect to your keyboard MIDI out and have available another output that contains the true sounds of a grand piano coming out of a Helpinstill system. The presence, balance and tone of the the Helpinstill system is unrivaled in the world of live piano amplification, and the keyPod brings that exact output to your digital piano or MIDI controller. We are now in the final stages of getting the keyPod ready for introduction to the piano world, and would like to invite you to send us your email address to be considered for "beta" testing this system.

This video was filmed at a concert where Ezra Charles appears to be playing a Yamaha P-80 digital piano. In reality, the sound is not from the Yamaha but coming from a prototype of the Helpinstill keyPod located offstage. |
